Steak and Cheese Calzone and Fish Dinner. Also enjoyed the Fresh, locally grown Fried Michigan Asparagus. Tasty! Highland Breeze was formerly known as Groves Pizza and is located in Highland Michigan.

Glendale Avenue Flood
It is raining cats and dogs here. Our whole street is filled with water. Glad I am on the 2nd floor!

St. Laurence Seaway - May 2nd, 2011
On May 2nd, on our way home from Niagara Falls, we stopped in Thorold Ontario to see Lock 4 and Lock 7 of the Welland Canal. This canal is part of the St. Lawrence Seaway, and it raises ships 99.5 meters from Lake Erie to Lake Ontario. While we were at Lock 4, we saw two ships passing each other in the lock. You can see them both in these photos. One was the John B. Aird, going upstream, and the other was going downstream. I don’t remember the downstream ship’s name. Look at the cars next to the ship and notice how high the Aird was raised in the lock!
Rock Legends Wax Museum - Niagara Falls Canada
Can you identify these Rock Legends? The Rock Legends Wax Museum was one of the attractions we saw at Niagara Falls recently. We enjoyed it, but some of the Rock Legends portrayed were not exactly for the faint of heart.
Niagara Falls - May 1st 2011
A few quick photos from Niagara Falls. The most serendipitous thing on this trip was the fireworks that happened over the falls while we were on our Ferris-wheel ride. Kathy was so excited! She loves fireworks! Unfortunately the Maid of the Mist was not to open for 2 more days, so we missed that. I saw the point of the delay, there was actually still ice and snow on the ground at the bottom of the falls. If you have never been to Niagara, I encourage you to check it out. There is a lot of touristy stuff if you like that kind of thing, but there are also fun things, like walking along the gorge and getting wet from the falls spray!

Tulip Time Festival, Holland MI 2011
A few of the many photos we took of the flowers and costumes of Holland. Also shown is the home where my family lived in the 1970’s and a photo of my dad on the wall of Western Seminary.
